Happy Fall Y’all!
I am so excited to be back again with my wonderful husband to give you an inside look into our diaper bag!!! This edition will be all about the small things, and let’s face it there are too many of them to count with a new baby, so we picked our Top 5 items we think you simply must have in your diaper bag. 😊If you missed our last edition with the Big Items for your Nursery check it out here!
I know this item seems like a no brainer but having quality burp cloths is a lifesaver! They double for so many things!!! I personally am a big fan of the terry cloth burp cloths; I find them more absorbent and easier to clean. My husband says they are great for cleaning up spills and drool! 😊
Toys are a must have no matter the age of your child, they can be the difference between a screaming child at a restaurant, and a nice evening together as a family. Dad’s the art of distraction can be the greatest help you can give your spouse! Here are a few of our favorites: Nubby Silly Three Prong Interactive Suction Toy with Colorful Rings, Manhattan Toy Wimmer-Ferguson Infant Stim Mobile to go Travel Toy, and Angelbliss Baby Teething Toy Set 0-6 months.
Of course, you need diapers in your diaper bag, there are never enough!!! We have found that we as a family we particularly like the Pampers Swaddlers, and through Amazon’s subscription service you can save 20% on your diapers!!! Not to mention the points you get from Pampers with each purchase. My husband reccomends these for thier wet/dirty Indicators, softness, and good fit. They’re super easy to use for first time parents, they give you one less thing to worry about. Plus they’re cheaper in bulk than you can even buy them in the store!
**Dad to dad, you’ll go through more diapers than you think, so you can NEVER be to prepared.**
We are a sensitive bunch when it comes to skin care, so I wanted to make sure that whatever wipes we used didn’t have scents, or any irritants in them for baby’s soft bottom. We like the Amazon Basics Sensitive Skin Wipes. You can also get these on subscription saving time and money! 😊
Again, with being highly conscious of sensitive skin I am a huge fan of the Baby Aquafer Butt Cream for regular everyday use. If your LO is having a rash I like to use the Desitin Maximum Strength with Zinc, and if it’s extremely bad I would recommend using Flannel Wipes, and a good dose of Budroux’s Butt Paste to knock it out! For those yeasty rashes Lotrimen is a lifesaver! I also give my daughter baking soda bath soaks for her bottom when we are teething and have a red bottom. It helps alleviate the pain and usually knocks out the redness in a day or so. No one likes an uncomfortable bottom! ☹
**BONUS!!! **BUTT CREAM SPATULA
Ok I may have mentioned this in a previous post, but this item has literally changed my life!!! I didn’t even know this existed until I took my daughter to daycare and saw our Caregiver using one. This item helps to prevent icky situations with Butt Cream ending up under your fingernails, or any thoughts of “Did I wash ALL those germs off my fingers enough?” They even make a travel size one that made life SO much easier!
Well there you have it folks! These items are the most functional, most affordably priced buys we could find for our little one. We hope that they both help to make your life easier with your new baby and are light on the wallet! Join us next month for a special Fall Family Edition you won’t want to miss!!!
Until next time, TTFN
